A bit of a trade off today as temperatures will be in the 50s but clouds and rain will be across the area. Breezy southwesterly winds will also be a problem through the afternoon. This warmer airmass will be across the state through tomorrow afternoon before an arctic weather system turns temperatures sharply colder for the weekend. Highs will only be in the 30s Saturday and Sunday.

Greg---are you buying into the CPC forecasts of a better than average chance of a warm winter in the Great Lakes?

Yes and no, how's that for an answer. It probably will be a bit above normal this winter in temperatures simply because of the cyclical nature of weather. Right now we seems to be in a 30-year cycle of warmer than average temperatures. In another sense I still think we are going to experience a couple of cold outbreaks. Overall, I can live with above normal for the winter and it doesn't seem to be a bad prediction.
