This Weekend and next week
Things are changing quickly and that's expected this time of year. Gone are those record setting highs in the 60s and coming are highs in the 20s. Here's what's going to happen over the next several days. A fast moving Pacific front comes into the picture this afternoon. According the the last qpf(quantitative precipitation forecast) we could see just under .50" of moisture. I think about 99% of this will be rain. This doesn't count for any convection (thunderstorms) which may occur but I think those chances are minimal. This system will knock down temperatures into the 30s by Friday afternoon. A second weather system comes into the picture Sunday afternoon. This system has been really frustrating to forecast. One of the mathematical model runs brings it in strong and seems like several inches of snow accumulation while the next run it just about disappears. So my confidence is pretty low that we will see heavy snow event here. Time will tell but right now it doesn't look a major weather system for northern Indiana.
