Bitter cold air is still on the way this weekend. Models have not really backed off of this which is a bit suprising but the consistency makes this event really a no brainer for meteorologists. Here is the latest run of the European model. We are still looking at a piece of the 'polar vortex' coming on Sunday morning with the -26 C line across the area.
This cold air pulls out pretty quickly. But the cold will be slow to moderate. It still looks like -16C on Monday morning.
Wednesday morning will still see -10. But by Wednesday afternoon temperatures will move back into the 20s.
