The Latest...At least before I go to bed
The new Cobb-NAM is putting about 4.8" of snowfall across the area. We have almost an inch at my house but I still caution you that the NAM is always too wet because of its days of being the ETA. In the meteorological world the ETA always made storms too wet. I'm also not thrilled with track. The southern stream storm is staying south and the northern stream storm doesn't have much moisture to work with. Right now we are benefiting from cold temperatures. We are experiences 22:1 ratio snow. That's not going to be the case overnight as we'll see warm air advection and the warmer the temperature the smaller the ratio for snowfall. Here are some cool images from what is called a Harris weathercaster. It's basically a microcast of several models but it does have some interesting snowfall projections. This is the NCEP ETA Model Forecast You can see the heaviest snow or 'bulls eye' is just east of Indianapolis and just north of Dayton and south of Columbus. I think this is a good estimate.
