Rivers will begin to flood

One of my first areas of interest when I began to study atmospheric science was hydrology. (water science). So when the rivers begin to flood it really sparks my interest. I find the folks that live by the rivers are very savvy to flooding and generally know what they are talking about. The water of course floods the land, then goes to the creeks and finally towards the rivers. Rivers, depending on the size can take several days to reach their flood stage as water moves into them from many different areas. So look for flooding to be at its peak by this weekend.
